Bassface is an international brand. That means that we have a sense of the trends within our field in a very broad sense. At the moment, in the Americas and some of Europe there is a huge excitement around building big, powerful amplifiers that use a Class D architecture but that are set to run full range. They are being used to drive all manner of incredible and wonderful speaker systems that are often crafted in a very exciting way. We wanted to be part of this and so we are proud to introduce to you the XDB1.1FR. This amplifier has an advanced double sided PCB with a circuit drawn by one of the most respected designers in the industry and the amplfier has a compelling set of performance credentials. The ability to run loads down as low as 1 ohm conservatively is of course the main party trick, but one could just as easily use the XDB1.1FR throttled back on a more modest load to create a system with huge reserves of power and headroom. XDB1.1FR also debuts a brand new remote control that has voltage, temperature display and a clip light along with its bass level control. On the connections we have huge, high quality insulated terminals with a useful remote out to drive other amps.

Version History

As a spin off from the Q2 meeting with our Chinese engineers the XDB1.1FR project was actually easier than we expected because the design was a clean sheet affair. The V1 amplifier has exceeded expectations right away and was delivered to our warehouse Q3 2017, in excellent time and customer deliveries will begin right away. V1.1 - Production models have had their safe impedance for customer use altered to 1 ohm after testing, for safety. Performance at 1 ohm is outstanding with almost 2500WRMS at only 1% distortion. Now discontinued. Support ended Q3 2022.
