Introducing the Bassface SPL8M.2 S Series. Professional series product for professional and automotive applications, where an extremely high power, high output, small form factor driver is required. This overbuilt heavy duty driver was designed to defy logic by providing extreme output and super sound quality in one driver. A strong cast basket and a massive ceramic magnet weigh a lot, but the weight helps adds presence to the lower mid-bass, as well as, eliminating distortion caused by flex and resonances in the basket assembly. The large High temperature voice coil is supported buy a triple roll treated cloth surround and a heavy duty cloth spider. A dimpled textured surface to the cone acts to increase the effective piston area, in turn moving more air, creating more SPL. From every angle this product screams quality, and delivers. With integrated Faraday Ring on the VC for optimal response these are great for small or large door builds in car or in the studio in a 2 way mid top box with an appropriate tweeter and crossover. You only have to look at the spec to understand what these are capable of – 350w RMS per woofer. These need properly amplifying with dedicated amp channels. The new S model benefits from 50W higher input power tolerence than the ordinary model. This is the 8 Ohm version.

Version History

Prototype – Based around many other high power 8″ midbass offerings. We wanted to push ours a little further with higher power handling and good low mid / supper bass pressure. The samples did as promised and we started the V1 V1 – The V1 has been a raging success with brilliant reviews, Super reliability and some people going as far as to modify and retail upgraded versions! V2- Version 2 with the addition of a “Copper shorting ring” the magnetic force will be concentrated into the magnetic gap which increases the mid presence. The basket also has extra holes for VC cooling compared to the first basket on the 8 ohm version. - available Q1 2017> V3- The V3 now has a larger Coil Winding height to help improve the midbass response and peak potential output. V4- This is the "S" model which now has a larger Coil Winding height to help improve the midbass response and peak potential output. This is the final version of this speaker, availavle Q3 2020. No further shipments will be available and this will be replaced for 2021 by the XM series.
