Moving on from the fanstastic SPL12.2 we developed a 2500w RMS SPL Monster version! With HUGE triple stacked ceramic Y35 magnets, the magnetic force in the voice coil gap is enormous, leading to increased force on the cone and in turn increased control and output. The voice has a huge thermal capacity thanks to its BASV construction and the carefully optimised low compression cooling structure around it. This means less heat build up, higher power handling, less distortion and less power compression. Perfect for applications where extreme SPL is required from a single drive unit on a very high power amplifier. The voice coil former is kept in nice straight linear motion 3 Nomex spiders stacked on top of each other. The SPL12.3 pushes the envelope on what you can expect from a 12″ woofer at any price range. The extreme SPL characteristics were not the only aspect we looked at and the subwoofer will instantly capture the heart of SQ and SPL fanatics alike. We kept the cone much the same because you cant go wrong with non pressed paper, but, with bigger coils, increased excursion and much higher Bl (motor force/magnetic energy in the voice coil gap) we have been able to bring you a subwoofer which is as refined and smooth as it is devastatingly powerful and capable of extreme output.

Version History

Prototype – Like the SPL15.3 we got a good 20 units for the prototype order so we could properly put then through their paces. V1 – The V1 was sold across markets in europe. The model saw some competition use achieving 159.9db with 4 subs on 17kw of input. Performance was excellent but the model was retired at the end of 2016 to make way for the redesigned SPL12.4.
