Now shipping Version 3 of this product - The latest DVC 2+2 ohm model of the venerable SPL12.2 features an improved voice coil cooling system, increased winding height, bigger bump in pole piece and integrated rubber gasket. the SPL12.2 is a highly developed all round sub with extremes of performance in every respect. Formidable power handling and SPL capabilities, coupled with great sound quality and response characteristics. This sub represents the culmination of years of experience and knowledge, with all the components carefully selected for power and reliability. The non pressed paper cone is lightweight and rigid and has a double stitched oversized surround offering terrifc excursion. The strong woven spider and tough coil former work with the three inch dual voice coil to create a powerful and lightweight motor structure and the insulated tinsel leads are “over under” woven through the spider, offering good performance at large excursions. The cast basket has a low surface area and still manages to be rigid. It also incorporates grilled vents for improved cooling to the VC. We believe that the SPL12.2 is the best speaker in it's class and that it out performs woofers from other brands costing twice as much.

Prototype – No prototype was necessary because the V1 2+2 is the same as the V3 4+4, but with the different coil. V1 - Introdued to complement the 4+4 version. TS Parameters for this model FS:63.13Hz, Sd: 46.38cm2, Mmd:248.91g, Mms:254.65g, BL:19.72T, Qms:7.89, Qes:1.04, Qts:0.92, SPL:84.5w/m, Vas:7.622L, EBP:60.70192308 V2 - Deeper and bigger bump in the T-yoke/back plate to enable longer excursion without slapping the plate. V3 - From assembly date Feb 2017 production of V3 incorporates improved bobbin glue. Outer packaging was also improved with double box and revised inner carton to prevent damage in transit. Deeper and bigger bump in the T-yoke/back plate to enable longer excursion without slapping the plate. Also this meant we could increase winding length safely on the VC +3mm.
