The SPL10M.1 woofer is ideal for crazy projects on a budget. Offering amazing sensitivity for a sizeable cone area the super lightweight textured paper cone is a perfect match for the big 60mm voice coil and chunky magnet. We added a billet phase plug which further smooths the response and keeps things cool under heavy load. This is large for a midbass/midrange unit but don't be fooled - even the vocal performance is good. Mounting depth of just 90mm is also excellent for such a big speaker. A copper shorting ring smooths the impedence and the speaker is available in both 4 and 8 Ohm variants. (This is the 8 Ohm version).

Version History

Prototype – The idea for this product came from our Italian market where large midrange drivers are often used in automotive applications. V1 – Using the 8 inch M.2 as a platform we scaled the speaker to 10 inch, added Faraday rings and kept the mount depth sensible. V1.1 – For V1 Initially we suggested power inputs in the region of 300WRMS but although the motor is able to cope with this the limitation becomes the basket which can actually crack under extreme load at high power input levels. For this reason the V1.1 speaker has been re-specified to "only 75W RMS" and is now a considerable bargain. See the "S" version of this speaker for the latest model with cast basket which is able to handle massive input levels. Marked as discontinued 07/12/18 with no plans for reintroduction due to being replaced by S model.
